cannot fullscreen thats not stretched hello. I need your help. I have a 20' widescreen lcd and I cant seem to find a way to make diablo 2 lod in full screen, not stretched with black border on the sides (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u263/fex_dominate/screennormal.jpg) after I patched 1.13. I applied -w -nofixaspect and try to stretch the window but I cant. I maximized the window and it made the window bigger without fully stretching but the graphics is not as good as when I run diablo fullscreen not -w mode. Ive read from that you need to go to nvidia control panel and I did but there is no scaling/stretching option or adjust desktop size position. My video card is geforce fx 5500. Is this because of my video card or is there another solution to my problem?
There are many different Mods available for Diablo II. While installing one of these might often be simple enough, removing the same mod or installing a new mod often causes problems. This is because most mods change many of the already existing game files, and they are often made for different patch versions of Diablo II as well. Many players however wish to have one or more mods installed at the same time, as well as a regular, or 'vanilla', installation of Diablo II intact so that they can play on Battle.net. This guide aims to explain how to do that.
Downgrading
I've patched LoD to 1.12, applied the Hi-Res patch, and can play the game at 1680 x 1050 (native resolution), BUT only for 5mins at best, before it resets the computer. (also using direct3d and perspective off) It only resets when I start up Diablo 2, so I'm almost certain the prob is isolated to the game btw. A modded Diablo II should only be played in TCP/IP mode for example. Once you start a game, there will be.
Many popular mods for Diablo II require different patch versions to run properly. Below is an incomplete list of mods and what patches they work with.
Back to Hellfire: Patch 1.10.
Battle for Elements: Patch 1.10.
Eastern Sun: Patch 1.10. Might work with Patch 1.11 as well, but it is recommended to run on 1.10.
Median XL: Patch 1.10, Patch 1.11, Patch 1.12 or Patch 1.13.
Zy-El: Patch 1.09d.
In order to run a mod, Diablo II needs to be patched correctly, or the mod will most likely not start at all.
